THE PINS ARE IN!!!

Last Friday the layout of the house was marked with wooden stakes. On the 4th of January the work will start. Albert and I went on Sunday and with the tape traced the contours of the foundations. Alas the weather was at it's worst - grey and windy. I am afraid the picture doesn't look very impressive. Maybe the next will be better.-

....SOMETHING MOVED...

... on the building front! Have some dates... Do I dare to get excited? Will I have my little house on the prairie yet? I must admit that there was a moment or two that I wanted to give up all the thought about building. Started even looking for the ready built houses in the area.

I am collecting the last papers from the Townhouse and the builders will start from the 4th of January!!! Luckily the winter is still very mild and promises to stay that way for the near future.

I might, just might, have the house in the Spring...

WHAT'S NEXT????

... find the builder who, apparently, left the Earth! (taking a substantial advance...)

For the last three days I kept ringing him to no avail. Nobody answers nor returns my calls. Am I not destined to have a new house?! My old looks more attractive by the minute. Not that I wanted to get rid of it anyway. My neighbours are great - I would be very sorry to leave them behind.
In the meantime we are keeping warm watching the snow fall...

Got the building permit!!!!!!!!! At looooooooooong last! I have a feeling that my troubles just started... This is only a beginning.-
Watch this space...

WHY DO I WANT A NEW HOUSE?...

A week or two more and will convince myself that I am happy in the house that I live in at present. It's a nice house and the boys have a lovely garden to chase magpies and jays in. I can develop the garden more and plant all the plants I love...
My neighbours are great...

In the meantime my architect is still fuffing me around! At the moment all the plans are in the town hall for approval. It transpired that there are a lot of things that he overlooked and this causes the delay.
